1 — Your font license

What comes in the download

Every Glyphline font download is a zip containing the full family in OTF (desktop), WOFF2 (web), and a PDF license certificate. Variable fonts include a single variable-axis file alongside the statics. The free Halo Rounded Light download is identical in format.

Installing on your computer

On macOS: double-click the OTF file and click Install Font, or drag it into Font Book. On Windows: right-click the OTF file and choose Install (or Install for all users if you need system-wide access). On Linux: copy OTF files to ~/.local/share/fonts/ and run fc-cache -fv.

Mac noteGlyphline web fonts are TrueType-flavoured WOFF2 (not CFF). If you ever see wrong glyphs in a browser on macOS, use the provided WOFF2 files — not a plain OTF-to-WOFF2 conversion — since macOS CoreText silently rejects CFF-flavoured web fonts.

Using a font on the web

Your download includes WOFF2 files ready to embed. Upload them to your server (or CDN) and reference them in CSS:

@font-face {
  font-family: 'Lumen Grotesk';
  font-weight: 400;
  font-style: normal;
  font-display: swap;
  src: url('/fonts/lumen-Regular.woff2') format('woff2');
}

Set font-display: swap to avoid invisible text while the font loads. Each weight needs its own @font-face block with the matching font-weight value.

Personal vs Extended (Business) license

Personal — $39

Personal projects, freelance work, client logos and branding, websites, apps, and social content where you are the designer and the end user. Up to 1 seat.

Extended — $79

Everything in Personal, plus use inside a product or SaaS shipped to many end users, broadcast, OEM embedding, or any project with revenue over $100 000 per year.

Both licenses permit unlimited commercial use by the licensee. The logo-use license bundled with logo maker purchases is separate — it covers your finished logo mark but does not include desktop or web font use of the underlying typeface.

Multiple seats and agencies

A single license covers one person. If multiple designers on your team will install and use the font, each needs their own license. Agencies licensing fonts for client work may use a single Personal license per client project. See the full Font EULA for edge cases, or email licensing@glyphline.io for volume pricing.

2 — The free logo maker

The logo maker is a free, self-serve browser editor. You design the logo; it renders and downloads it. No account required.

The four-step wizard

When you first open the maker, a short wizard sets a smart starting point before you see the editor.

  1. Industry — pick the sector closest to your brand (Coffee, Law, Tech, etc.). This loads a curated preset: the right font, palette, weight, and layout for that type of business.
  2. Name — type your brand name and optional tagline. The brand name locks in for the session.
  3. Personality — five sliders let you nudge the preset toward how the brand actually feels. See below.
  4. Style — choose Basic (text only, free download) or Agentic AI Design Team ($19.99, generates custom concepts). Basic opens the editor immediately.

Personality sliders — how they work

The sliders sit between two extremes and adjust specific design properties on top of your industry preset. Leaving all sliders at centre makes no change — the industry preset stands untouched.

At strong settings, the font may also swap — for example, Ornate+2 substitutes Continental Wide while keeping your industry colours. The result is the industry preset, refined by your personality, not replaced by it.

The editor — four control cards

Once in the editor, four cards let you tune everything independently.

Freeform mode

Selecting Freeform in the Layout card unlocks independent positioning. In Freeform you can drag the wordmark and the graphic symbol anywhere on the canvas, rotate each independently (including the symbol), and add a geometric shape (square, rectangle, triangle, circle, pentagon, or octagon) as a background frame. Use the Shape thickness slider to control the stroke weight — the paid download faithfully reproduces whatever thickness you set.

Tip — using shapesAdd a thin circle around a centred stacked logo for a badge feel without switching to the Badge layout. Shapes are part of the free and paid download alike.

Adding an AI graphic symbol

Switch to Graphic mode inside the editor, type a short description ("minimalist coffee cup", "geometric mountain"), pass the human check, and click Generate. The maker calls Recraft's vector engine, strips the background, recolours the result to match your ink colour, and shows you a watermarked preview. You can regenerate as often as the rate limit allows (6 per hour, 15 per day on the free tier).

The clean, unwatermarked version of your symbol is stored server-side and assembled into your paid download automatically when you unlock.

Free vs paid download

Free Browser download

PNG and SVG rendered in your browser. Great for mockups and social posts. Does not include a commercial logo license.

Paid $29.99 Personal · $49.99 Business

Server-rendered SVG + PNG + transparent-background PNG, all at full resolution. Includes a logo license, font license certificate, and a 14-day revision window.

Your 14-day revision window

After purchase, your confirmation email contains a Make revisions link that stays active for 14 days. Clicking it re-opens the editor with your logo pre-loaded, the graphic symbol loaded clean (no watermark), and a banner showing how many of your 5 AI regenerations remain. Change anything — font, colour, layout, rotation, shape thickness — then click Save & Download revised files to get an updated zip without paying again.

Start over

The ← Start over link in the top-right of the editor fully resets the session: clears the graphic, wipes the symbol prompt, returns to text mode, resets all rotation and shape values, and returns the personality sliders to centre. It does not affect a purchase you've already made — use the revision link for that.

3 — The AI Design Studio

The AI Design Studio ($19.99) replaces the wizard with a Claude-powered design agent that asks about your brand and delivers 3–4 fully custom concepts, each set in a different Glyphline typeface.

The intake chat

The agent asks up to five questions — brand name, business type, target audience, style direction, and whether you want a graphic symbol. Your answers are locked into a brief that guides every design decision; the brand name is immutable once set. You can also answer in French and the agent will respond in French throughout.

After five questions (or sooner if it has enough), the agent emits the brief and automatically generates your first round of concepts. You don't need to ask — it happens automatically.

Free concepts and the unlock

The first 3–4 concepts are free and watermarked. Each concept uses a different Glyphline typeface, and the shared graphic symbol is derived from concrete elements of your brief (a lower-Manhattan coffee shop might get a coffee cup, moka pot, or a simplified skyline — never generic filler). You get 14 free messages and 6 free graphic generations to refine the concepts before you're asked to unlock.

The $19.99 unlock removes watermarks, raises the generation cap to 40, extends your session to 14 days, and enables the download.

Refining after unlock

After unlocking, the full editor is available with the same four control cards as the basic maker. You can regenerate the graphic symbol (up to 40 total across the session), change layout, adjust colours, add shapes, and rotate elements. Each regeneration costs one credit from your cap; text and layout changes are free.

Fine-tuning in the basic maker

A Fine-tune this concept in the manual editor → button hands your paid session off to the basic maker with all your settings pre-loaded. The brand name becomes read-only and the graphic loads clean. Edits made there sync back to your studio session before download, so the final zip reflects both the AI session and any manual refinements.

Your download

The download zip contains an SVG, a PNG, a transparent-background PNG (useful for dark backgrounds and merchandise), and a logo license certificate. The session file is preserved server-side for 14 days after purchase, so you can re-download and revise within that window.

Promo codes

Enter a promo code in the field on the studio page (or in the manual editor's unlock box) before clicking the payment button. The code must be entered at Glyphline's unlock box — not in Polar's payment form — otherwise it won't be applied. FIRST25 gives 25% off and is valid once per email address.

FAQ

What is the difference between the free logo maker and the AI Design Studio?

The free logo maker is a self-serve editor: you set the industry, name, and personality, then tune everything manually in the editor — font, layout, colours, rotation, shapes, and an optional AI graphic symbol. Free PNG and SVG downloads are always available; a paid unlock adds server-rendered high-resolution files and a commercial license.

The AI Design Studio replaces that manual process with a Claude-powered design agent. It interviews you about your brand and autonomously generates 3–4 fully custom concepts, each using a different Glyphline typeface and a bespoke graphic symbol grounded in your business and location. You refine interactively in a full editor and pay $19.99 to unlock clean files.

Choose the logo maker if you know what you want and want to build it quickly. Choose the Studio if you'd like the AI to explore directions you might not have considered, or if you want multiple distinct concepts to compare.

Do I need to pay to use the logo maker?

No. The logo maker is free to use with no signup. You can design a logo, add an AI graphic symbol, and download free PNG and SVG files at any point. A paid unlock ($29.99 Personal, $49.99 Business) adds server-rendered high-resolution files, a transparent-background variant, a commercial logo license certificate, and a 14-day revision window.

What fonts are available in the logo maker?

All ten original Glyphline typefaces: Lumen Grotesk (geometric sans), Ledger Mono (monospaced display), Anvil Slab (slab serif), Solstra Didone (high-contrast serif), Halo Rounded (soft rounded — also free to download), Tower Condensed (tall condensed), Cargo Stencil (industrial stencil), Continental Wide (extended editorial serif), Current (contemporary display), and Tumble Display (playful display). The industry preset chooses a starting point; you can switch freely in the editor.

Can I rotate the graphic or text in layouts other than Freeform?

Yes. Rotation is available in every layout — Inline, Stacked, Badge, Circle badge, and Freeform. The Text rotation slider in the Details card rotates the wordmark around its centre. The Graphic rotation slider appears when a symbol is loaded and rotates the symbol in place. Both are faithfully reproduced in the paid server-rendered download.

How long can I revise my logo after purchasing?

14 days from the date of purchase. The Make revisions → link in your confirmation email opens the editor with your logo pre-loaded and the graphic symbol shown clean (no watermark). You can change any design element and click Save & Download revised files to get an updated zip. You also receive 5 AI graphic regenerations during this window, credited separately from any free-tier generations you used before purchasing.

What is in the paid download zip?

For the logo maker: an SVG, a full-colour PNG, a transparent-background PNG, and a logo license certificate (PDF).

For the AI Design Studio: the same four files, plus a record of the brief and the concept that was selected.

The SVG is clean vector — no watermark, no raster elements — and scales to any size for print, signage, and large-format use.

Is a font license included with my logo purchase?

No — they are separate products. The logo purchase includes a logo-use license: the right to use the finished mark commercially as your brand identity. It does not include a desktop, web, or app license for the underlying typeface. If you want to set additional text in that font (a website, packaging, documents), you need a separate font license from the relevant specimen page.

If you're unsure which license you need, email licensing@glyphline.io.

What is the difference between Personal and Business logo tiers?

Personal ($29.99) covers logos for a single brand used by the licensee — freelance work, small businesses, personal projects, and client work where you are the designer delivering one logo.

Business ($49.99) covers the same plus use cases with higher commercial exposure: a business with annual revenue over $100 000, a logo for a product sold to many end users, or a corporate identity applied across multiple sub-brands.

When in doubt, Personal covers the vast majority of uses. Upgrade to Business if your brand is at scale.

Can I use the AI Design Studio if I already have a concept in mind?

Yes — tell the agent your concept in the intake chat. It will take your direction into account when generating concepts and will build the graphic symbol from the concrete visual cues you provide. You can also skip directly to the free logo maker if you already know the font and layout you want; the Studio is most valuable when you want the AI to explore options.

My graphic came out wrong in the paid download — what should I do?

Use the Make revisions link in your confirmation email to re-open the editor, adjust anything that doesn't look right (font, layout, colours, rotation, shape thickness), and re-download. If you believe there was a technical error (wrong thickness, missing element, broken file), contact licensing@glyphline.io with your order reference and we'll sort it out.
